Bright Nights 2010

Miniature Train

Stanley Park is undoubtably one of Vancouver’s most beloved attractions, frequented year-round by both locals and tourists. For over 20 years Stanley Park in partnership with the BC Firefighter’s Burn Fund has been summoning the Christmas Spirit with their annual Bright Nights event. From November 26th to January 2nd, wander the gardens or hop aboard the miniature train and get ready to be dazzled by over two million tiny, twinkling lights that decorate the internationally celebrated park.

Sing along to your favorite Christmas tunes brought to you by Mortal Coli’s Performance Society that are sure to bring back your favorite childhood memories.

Finally, warm up with a hot chocolate, roasted nuts or fresh popcorn at the Ecology Society Cob House before meeting the man himself, Santa, located in his “living room” at the train station.

Christmas 2010 will be the last year that the Children’s Farmyard will be open to the public as the year-round animal display and Children’s petting zoo of sheep, pigs, goats, cows and snakes will be permanently relocated and is something not to be missed by your little ones.

All donations collected at the event, and partial proceeds from the sale of tickets for the train, go to the Burn Fund to help burn survivors and their families. As Bright Nights is one of its major fundraisers, the Burn Fund accepts donations at the front gate and suggests a minimum donation of $2.

Admission to the Plaza is free. Tickets are required to ride the Bright Nights Train and visit the Children’s Farmyard.
